ARSIEM is looking for a Senior Help Desk Technician to providetechnical support for computers and associated networks. This position will support one of our Government clients in Columbia, MD.

Responsibilities

• Installs, troubleshoots, services, and repairs personal computers, network equipment such as servers, modems, multiplexers, related PC software, telephones, cables, and connectors.
• Provides personal computer, hardware, and software support.
• Installs, services, and repairs personal computers and installs attendant software.
• Connects personal computers and terminals to existing data networks.
• Diagnoses hardware, software, and network problems.
• Resolves problems or contacts additional technical support as necessary.
• Maintains network diagrams and circuit records.
• Maintains trouble logs.
• Instructs users in the use of personal computers and networks.
• Investigates information, network, and communications needs of users, and makes recommendations regarding software and hardware purchases.
• Performs basic PC, PBX, and network software programming.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School plus specialized training and 5 - 6 years of experience.
• Extensive knowledge of the field.
• Works on moderately difficult assignments, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.
• Plans own work.
• Uses judgment within the limits of standard practice.
• Only asks for supervision for unusual cases; errors could affect other operating groups.
• May have day-to-day work coordination of others.

$79,000 - $107,000 a year

The ARSIEM pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) job responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other laws.
