Job summary

Trovy is seeking an experienced Underwriter to assess HELOC applications and make well-documented credit decisions. You will handle complex income scenarios, including Schedule C/E/K-1s and business returns, while ensuring compliance with policy and regulations.

You’ll work in a startup-like environment in Salt Lake City, Utah, focusing on decision quality, accuracy, and audit-ready documentation. This role emphasizes no sales, collaboration with policy teams, and ongoing improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mortgage or home equity underwriting experience, including self employed borrowers.
• Expert in complex income analysis (personal and business tax returns, K-1s, cash flow).
• Experience applying written credit policy and income guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite HELOC applications from start to final decision per Trovy policy.
• Analyze complex income for self-employed borrowers and partnerships.
• Assess borrower income stability, distributions, and year-over-year trends.
• Verify income using transcripts, paystubs, W-2s, and third-party tools.
• Review credit reports, DTIs, and collateral valuation.
• Document rationale for each decision for audit readiness.
• Communicate conditions clearly to operations and borrowers.
• Support ECOA, Reg B, FCRA compliance and fair lending.
