Job summary

Citco in the United States (California) is seeking a Fund Accountant to maintain books and records for hedge fund clients, perform NAV calculations, and prepare investor reports. You will work within a team to ensure accuracy and compliance with service level agreements and internal controls.

The role requires a accounting/finance background, CFA/CPA or equivalent designation preferred, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
• Nearly qualified or completed CA, CMA, CGA, CPA or CFA designation.
• Accounting/Finance background with relevant experience.
• Experience at hedge/mutual funds or investment companies.
• Understanding of investment strategies and financial products (including derivatives).
• Some successful supervisory/management experience an advantage.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated financial reporting, analytical and organizational skills.
• Strong Office and Outlook skill set (especially Excel).
• Proven ability to work in a challenging and professional work environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain books and records of funds and prepare fund financial reports and investor allocations.
• Work to global procedures and internal best practices.
• Assist and work with a small team of Fund Accountants and local management to service clients.
• Perform valuation of hedge fund portfolio holdings.
• Provide analysis of fund performance and prepare performance/P&L related reports.
• Investigate, communicate and resolve valuation/P&L related issues with hedge fund clients.
• Perform price verification and prepare sign-off packages.
• Monitor compliance with various client service agreements.
• Oversee and prepare complex Net Asset Value calculations and investor P&L allocations.
• Maintain detailed financial records including balance sheet, GL entries and P&L; review reconciliations.
• Monitor and bookkeep fund activity including corporate actions, income/expenses, fees and transfers.
• Ensure compliance of agreements with clients.
• Collaborate to improve product quality and consistency.
• Lead migrations and new fund launches to completion.
• Train and support team members in their development.
• Serve as a client contact for queries or escalations.
• Respond to Investment Manager queries with detailed knowledge of processes/products.
• Interact with Auditors, Brokers, Legal Counsel and Investment Managers.
• Assist with ad hoc projects.
