Job summary

BurnBot is seeking a Reserve Heavy Equipment Operator / Senior Operations Specialist to join our Field Operations team in White City, Oregon. You will inspect and maintain equipment, perform mechanical and prescribed fire fuel treatments, and uphold safety standards to support our wildfire mitigation mission.

This role is full-time, non-exempt, with an hourly rate of $32–$38. Travel up to 75% along the west coast is expected; CDL required within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License and up to 75% travel.
• CDL Class A required within 90 days.
• 2+ years operating heavy equipment (masticators, mulchers, skid steers).
• Familiarity with fire mitigation or vegetation management.
• Ability to perform field diagnostics and maintenance.
• Comfortable in remote outdoor environments and lifting 100 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate BurnBot’s remote mastication units in the field.
• Navigate rugged terrain using heavy equipment best practices.
• Conduct basic troubleshooting and field maintenance on machinery.
• Coordinate daily production goals and project updates with leadership.
• Comply with state and federal safety regulations; promote a safe environment.
• Operate chainsaw to fell, delimb and buck trees at worksites.
• Adapt to a fast-changing environment and priorities.
