Job summary

Harnden Construction Services, LLC is seeking an experienced heavy equipment operator for Ft. Meade, MD. The role requires operating excavators, bulldozers, rollers, pavers, and other machinery, with a focus on safety and accuracy.

The operator may run multiple pieces of equipment in a single day to support laborers and supervisors. We offer competitive pay commensurate with experience, veteran ownership, company-paid health benefits, a 401(k) plan, and tuition reimbursement programs.

Qualifications

• Requires one-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school OR six months of related experience.
• Able to pass a practical skills test for heavy equipment including dozers, excavators, and loaders.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow detailed but straightforward instructions.
• Problem solving and PPE fit testing ability.

Responsibilities

• Operate and control heavy equipment following safety policies.
• Move levers and pedals to operate machines efficiently.
• Perform daily equipment checks and routine cleaning.
• Ensure equipment is parked safely and stored properly.
• Notify foreman of maintenance or repair needs.
• Follow job site safety rules and participate in training.
