Qualdoc in Taneytown, MD is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers. This full-time role requires hands-on repair skills, strong mechanical knowledge, and the ability to keep equipment operating safely and reliably.

Responsibilities include inspecting and repairing hydraulic and electrical systems, completing work orders, and coordinating with management to prioritize tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of hands-on maintenance experience with heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, cranes, or similar machinery.
• Two additional technical areas such as hydraulics, electronics, small engines, or air conditioning.
• High school diploma or GED; trade school/associate-degree diesel repair training equivalent to an associate degree.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; professional certifications in heavy equipment maintenance preferred.

Responsabilités

• Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, cranes, and other motorized machinery.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues involving hydraulics, electronics, small engines, air-conditioning systems, and related components.
• Complete work orders and maintenance records accurately, including equipment mileage and operating hours.
• Coordinate with the Shop Foreman to prioritize maintenance tasks and urgent repairs.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain an organized, clean work area.
• Help reduce equipment downtime by completing repairs and maintenance efficiently.
• Travel as needed for work assignments, training, and meetings.
