Job summary

TEC Equipment is seeking an experienced technician to diagnose and repair heavy-duty trucks. You will perform inspections, complex repairs, and routine maintenance while maintaining accurate service records.

The role requires hands-on expertise with diesel systems, diagnostic software, and a valid driver's license (CDL preferred). We offer in-house advanced training and a safety-focused work environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years practical experience in commercial 6 & 8 truck classes.
  • Must have own hand tools.
  • High expertise in troubleshooting using diagnostic software.
  • OEM Master Tech certifications & Cummins training preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills to input vehicle maintenance records and utilize diagnostic software.
  • Valid driver's license; CDL license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections and diagnostic tests to troubleshoot and repair trucks.
  • Perform advanced repairs on major components (radiators, turbos, engines).
  • Rebuild or repair major components (transmissions, gear plates, block).
  • Handle engine overhauls including heads and bearings.
  • Troubleshoot wiring and electronic issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance and replace worn parts.
  • Maintain safe, organized work area and uphold quality standards.
  • Maintain vehicle records of services and repairs.
  • Comply with safety, EPA and company policies.
  • Test vehicles post-service to verify performance.
