Job summary

MacQueen Equipment Group in Minnesota is seeking a Diesel Technician/Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy‑duty refuse and environmental equipment at our Saint Paul shop. You’ll rely on your hands‑on experience and sharp diagnostic skills to keep equipment in top condition.

Responsibilities include inspections, preventative maintenance, warranty work, rebuilds, and using factory diagnostic software.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working on heavy-duty trucks or equipment.
• A Diesel Technician/Mechanic degree or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Strong hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Welding and cutting torch experience.
• A valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new diagnostic software.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy-duty refuse and environmental equipment.
• Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, warranty repairs, and complete rebuilds.
• Utilize factory diagnostic software, programming tools, and testing equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Operate shop equipment including cranes, hoists, hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Stay current on the latest equipment by attending manufacturer training and certification programs.
• Complete repair orders accurately while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and professional shop—and provide exceptional service when working at customer locations.
• Work closely with our Parts and Service teams to get customers back up and running as quickly as possible.
