Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Estimator for the Central United States preconstruction team. You will develop timely, accurate cost proposals for large projects, including bid-build, design-build, and EPC approaches across multiple states.

Open to supporting Dallas / Westlake, TX projects with travel to site investigations and field verifications. A Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years in civil/heavy civil estimating are preferred, with strong collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction experience with at least 2+ years directly in civil/heavy civil estimating.
• Strong knowledge of bid documents, specifications, and field logistics.
• Ability to interpret drawings and develop constructability plans under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop pricing strategies and cost summaries from contract documents and site conditions.
• Analyze plans, specs, geotechnical reports, and addenda to understand scope and risk.
• Conduct site investigations to identify access constraints and haul distances.
• Collaborate with engineers and operations to align estimating with means and methods.
• Evaluate subcontractor quotes for completeness and competitiveness.
• Maintain historical cost data and regional unit pricing.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
