Job summary

KLA Industries in the Atlanta metro area is actively seeking a seasoned Heavy Civil Estimator to join its preconstruction team. The role focuses on preparing detailed cost estimates and bid packages for civil infrastructure and site development projects.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on estimating experience in earthwork, grading, underground utilities, drainage, paving, and related heavy civil work, with strong analytical, mathematical, and communication skills to ensure precise bids and

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience estimating heavy civil construction projects.
• Strong understanding of grading, excavation, utilities, drainage, paving, and sitework.
• Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, specifications, and bid packages.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specifications, bid documents, and contract requirements.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop project cost estimates.
• Analyze labor, equipment, material, and subcontractor costs.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Prepare bid proposals, estimate summaries, clarifications, and exclusions.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and project reviews.
• Collaborate with operations teams during bid turnover and project startup.
• Identify project risks, cost exposures, and opportunities.
