Job summary

Synectics Inc. in Brooklyn seeks a seasoned Heavy Civil Estimator to prepare detailed estimates, takeoffs, and bid proposals for complex projects across NY / NJ.

You will review RFQs, plans, specs, and coordinate with vendors, owners, and teams, using HCSS and scheduling tools. Requires 5+ years' heavy civil experience and a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.

Candidates should be able to commute to Brooklyn daily and contribute to timely bid submissions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of heavy civil/site work and utility experience.
• 3+ years of estimating experience with a General Contractor.
• Strong knowledge of storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main, earthwork, and roadwork.
• Public works experience in New York/New Jersey strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with NYSDOT, NYCDDC, and NYCDEP specifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed heavy civil estimates, takeoffs, and bid proposals.
• Review RFQs, RFPs, plans, specifications, and construction documents.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, owners, and project teams.
• Develop project schedules and support bid submissions.
• Conduct site visits and assist with proposal development.
