Job summary

UCI Health seeks a Buyer 2 to manage daily procurement activities within a large healthcare setting. You will evaluate service requests, set priorities, and coordinate with Accounts Payable to ensure timely vendor payments and contract compliance.

You will maintain critical procurement data, interface with multiple teams, monitor vendor performance, and support RFP development while upholding excellent customer service and organizational standards.

Qualifications

• Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize complex workloads.
• Two years of purchaser experience in a large healthcare system.
• Experience with MMIS systems and GHX Exchange or related dashboards.
• Familiar with MS Office; able to prepare and analyze data.
• Knowledge of procurement practices, vendor sourcing, and negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily departmental procurement activities and evaluate service requests.
• Set priorities and communicate them to peers and customers to maintain trust.
• Interface with Accounts Payable to ensure accurate vendor payments and contract terms.
• Maintain an integral procurement database and coordinate vendor requests.
• Monitor vendor performance and support RFP development as needed.
