Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Buyer 2 to manage daily procurement activities within a large healthcare system. You will evaluate requests, prioritize tasks, and liaise with Accounts Payable to ensure timely vendor payments, while maintaining vendor relationships and contract terms.

The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, MMIS experience, and the ability to develop RFPs. This on-site position supports UCI Health’s network across Orange and Los Angeles counties.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workloads.
• Experience with MMIS and GHX Exchange and dashboard usage.
• Experience developing RFPs and negotiating with vendors.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Minimum of 2 years as a purchaser in a large, complex healthcare system.
• Familiarity with healthcare materials, equipment, supplies, and services.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily procurement activities and evaluate service requests.
• Maintain procurement data and act as liaison between supply chain and customers.
• Coordinate vendor requests, ensure contract terms are fulfilled, and monitor vendor performance.
