Gallagher Bassett is seeking a Claims Specialist in the GB Specialty unit to manage moderately complex Healthcare Professional Liability claims, with a focus on Correctional Medicine. The role covers the full claim life cycle, including coverage analysis, investigation, evaluation, and resolution, ensuring alignment with client expectations and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include reserving, settlements, and collaboration with carriers, clients, and attorneys.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in handling professional liability claims.
• Strong insurance fundamentals and understanding of claims processes.
• Ability to analyze documentation, summarize facts, and support coverage determinations.
• Computer proficiency with claims systems and standard business software.
• Must be able to obtain required adjuster licenses within designated timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Analyze coverage and settle moderately complex claims in Correctional Medicine Professional Liability.
• Manage the full life cycle of all assigned claims files.
• Conduct thorough investigations to determine exposure and recommend settlements.
• Prepare reserve and settlement authority requests for client and carrier approval.
• Interact with clients, client attorneys, and external experts as needed.
