Job summary

ECG Management Consultants is building an Analytics Hub in Chicago, IL to turn large-scale healthcare data into scalable analytics, Power BI visuals, and actionable insights for consulting teams.

You will collaborate with Strategy & Enterprise Growth, Payer Strategy & Contracting, and Health System Performance to gather analytics requirements, deliver analyses, and support market assessments and operational improvements.

ECG Management Consultants is building an Analytics Hub that supports client delivery and business development across healthcare provider and payer organizations. In this onsite role in Chicago, IL, you will help turn large-scale healthcare data into scalable analytics, clear Power BI visualizations, and actionable insights for consulting teams.

You will collaborate with units including Strategy & Enterprise Growth, Payer Strategy & Contracting, Health System Performance, and Medical Group Optimization to gather analytics requirements and deliver analysis that informs strategic planning, operational improvement, and market assessments.

What you’ll do

• Gather and synthesize data from multiple sources, including national surveys, proprietary research, and client interviews.
• Prepare analyses using hospital inpatient databases and provider claims data.
• Build flexible, dynamic, and scalable financial and operational models to forecast trends and support consulting scenarios for delivery and business development.
• Enhance existing analytics models, primarily using SQL, with some models using Python or R.
• Run complex big-data analyses, including cleaning, preparing, and interpreting datasets.
• Identify and execute analyses in response to consultant business intelligence inquiries.
• Build relational databases using Microsoft SQL Server or Fabric.
• Create and maintain reports, queries, and visuals in Power BI, including production and development environments for related databases.
• Research, test, and implement solutions within Power BI.
• Configure and maintain interfaces to exchange data among Power BI, SQL databases, and other cloud-based applications.
• Communicate market insights to pursuit teams and support business development efforts.
• Document analytical support, operating procedures, and contribute to internal education for consultants and operations members.
• Assist the vice president of data analytics and AI in developing analytics and data strategy for firm-wide capabilities.

What you’ll need

• Strong knowledge of and passion for the healthcare industry.
• A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, statistics, health information management, or a related field emphasizing critical thinking, logic, and math.
• 5+ years of healthcare data analytics experience, including analysis of clinical, operational, financial, or population health data.
• Experience in healthcare consulting, healthcare technology, or working for a hospital or health system, using data to deliver actionable insights.
• Strong proficiency in data analysis, reporting, dashboard development, and translating complex data into business insights.
• Experience with healthcare datasets such as claims, EHRs, patient outcomes, quality metrics, or value-based care programs is highly preferred.
• Advanced SQL skills and data visualization experience (for example, Tableau or Power BI); Python, R, Databricks, or Azure experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent organizational skills.

Compensation and benefits

Estimated base salary: $100,000 - $130,000 annually.
