Job summary

EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants is seeking a healthcare casualty broker with strong client-service focus to support healthcare clients and new business prospects. The role emphasizes relationship management, renewal strategy, and collaboration with global executives across multiple offices.

You will mentor junior staff, coordinate with wholesalers, and participate in industry events to grow the National Risk Management Healthcare Practice.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in all phases of client relationship management and retention strategies focusing on service and delivery of EPIC resources.
  • Work closely with the Casualty account team members and the Global Client Executive to service clients, including renewal specifications, negotiating terms, presenting results, and reviewing quotes for accuracy.
  • Coordinate London/Bermuda placements with wholesale partners and develop relationships with underwriters.
  • Oversee creation of certificates of insurance and auto-identification cards; ensure timely invoicing and remittance.
  • Review contracts and insurance requirements, identifying gaps in coverage and errors.
  • Assist with special projects, capability presentations, and RFP responses; support business development.
  • Understand and deploy Risk Consulting Services (Claims, Loss Control & Analytics).
  • Attend industry events and assist in training/supervision of junior staff.

Overview:

This position includes working closely with Global Client Executives, primarily focusing on client relations and service delivery to healthcare clients and new business prospects. It also includes developing and mentoring less experienced healthcare casualty colleagues who support the senior healthcare broker on their book of business. This role requires three days per week in the office. Office locations include: San Francisco, New York, Atlanta, Boston. Healthcare Professional Liability experience required.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist in all phases of client relationship management and retention strategies focusing on service and delivery of EPIC resources.
  • Work closely with the Casualty account team members and the Global Client Executive to service clients, including the following tasks:
    • Create and submit renewal specifications to the marketplace
    • Negotiate policy terms, conditions, and premiums
    • Present marketing results to clients
    • Review quotes, binders, policies, and endorsements for accuracy and transmit to clients
  • Coordinate London/Bermuda placements with our wholesale partners
  • Develop productive business relationships with key insurance underwriters
  • Keep clients abreast of marketplace developments and innovations
  • Implement and maintain a quality service plan in all areas of client deliverables
  • Support and grow ongoing client relationships
  • Oversee the creation of certificates of insurance and auto-identification cards
  • Request invoices, ensure timely payment and remittance
  • Review contracts and insurance requirements for clients and identify gaps in coverage, suitability, and errors
  • Assist with special projects and client requests
  • Coordinate the production of renewal strategy, renewal presentation, and stewardship reports
  • Assist Producers and Global Client Executives with prospect opportunities, including preparation of capabilities presentations, written RFP responses, and oral presentations
  • Understand and deploy Risk Consulting Services (Claims, Loss Control & Analytics)
  • Service clients’ daily account needs
  • Perform other such duties as may be assigned by the company at its discretion from time to time
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the National Risk Management Healthcare Practice
  • Attend various insurance industry events, (ASHRM, IMAC, HCIC) as requested
  • Assist in the training/supervision of junior staff
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Credentials and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional liability broking experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Holds a valid P&C Broker’s License(s)
  • Additional related designations and experience with captives will be viewed positively
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
  • Active Property & Casualty Broker License, with the ability to maintain required licensing through continuing education
  • Valid driver’s license

The national average salary for this role is $150,000 to $175,000 in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.
