Job summary

Fishbeck is seeking a Senior Healthcare Architect to join our growing Healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading the technical development of medium to large scale healthcare projects.

This role may involve projects in higher education, R&D, civic, and municipal sectors. Experience with healthcare facilities design (hospitals, clinics, medical offices) and familiarity with healthcare codes (FGI, ADA) are strong assets.

Qualifications

  • :10-15 years of experience in healthcare architecture, preferably in leadership roles.
  • Licensure preferred.
  • Proficient with Revit; knowledge of health facilities standards and codes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager in developing project work plans and schedules.
  • Collaborate with the design team during programming and conceptual phases.
  • Lead the technical team in preparing design development and construction documents for healthcare facilities.
  • Coordinate with in-house engineers and outside consultants.
  • Develop architectural technical specifications with a focus on healthcare systems, materials, and infection control standards.
  • Lead construction administration including observation, RFI and submittal review.
  • Serve as project manager on small to medium projects if required.
  • Assist with departmental duties such as updating technical standards and mentoring junior staff.

Job Summary

Fishbeck is seeking a Senior Healthcare Architect to join our growing Healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading the technical development of medium to large scale healthcare projects. This position also includes the opportunity to get involved in other project types such as higher education, R&D, civic, and municipal.

Note

Experience with healthcare facility design, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, and medical office buildings, is highly preferred. Familiarity with FGI Guidelines, ADA, and healthcare-specific codes is a strong plus.

Primary Functions
  • Assist the Project Manager in developing project work plans and schedules.
  • Collaborate with the design team during programming and conceptual phases.

Desired Skills / Experience
  • 10-15 years of experience, preferred.
  • Licensure preferred.
  • Experienced in developing projects using Revit.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and BSD Spec Link is a bonus.
  • Must possess good written and verbal communication skills, and strong organizational skills.
  • Very detail-oriented, self‑motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible.
  • Ability to work well with others under demanding deadline situations.
  • Note: Candidates with experience coordinating with healthcare consultants (e.g., medical equipment planners, infection control specialists) will be prioritized.
Minimum Physical Requirements
  • Mobility to work in an office setting, use standard office equipment, visual acuity to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone. Desired Education

Master of Architecture or Bachelor of Architecture Degree from an accredited university.
