Job summary

Oura is seeking a Senior Algorithm Scientist to develop and validate health-sensing algorithms for the ring and connected app, impacting millions of users worldwide.

You will lead signal processing and machine learning projects, run biomarker studies, and collaborate with hardware, firmware, and product teams to deliver new insights.

Based in San Francisco, the role requires a PhD with 3+ years or MSc with 5+ years, and in-office work three days per week.

Qualifications

• PhD with 3+ years or MSc with 5+ years in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, neural engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of Python programming experience and collaboration tools (git, code reviews).
• Experience with signal processing methods and time-series analysis (FIR/IIR filters, Kalman filtering, adaptive filtering).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to signal processing and machine learning algorithm development for Oura features across sensing modalities.
• Design early-stage studies to identify and validate new sensing features and biomarkers.
• Develop internal evaluation tools and collaborate with hardware/firmware teams to optimize products.
