• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years experience in legislative/state agency work.
• Experience working with executive personnel.
• Project management experience and ability to handle multiple projects.
• Knowledge of State and local political and legislative processes.
• Verbal and written communication skills to persuade policymakers; writing, editing, disseminating complex information clearly.
• Independent judgment skills.
• PC proficiency including Microsoft Word and internet based legislative tracking programs.

Responsibilities

• Supports advocacy and public affairs initiatives.
• Provides recommendations and research for state and federal health coverage legislative and regulatory policy development.
• Establishes and maintains relationships with advocates, colleagues, and stakeholders inside and outside of government.
• Authors analyses, newsletter items, fact sheets and legislative briefing documents on health insurance and health care delivery.
• Serves as a representative on various coalitions and work groups.
