SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is seeking Health Physics Technicians to perform a broad set of health physics support duties within the Environment, Safety and Health Division and Radiation Protection Department. Candidates will apply radiation detection principles, perform surveys, and ensure regulatory compliance across tasks from monitoring to radiological work control development.

Qualifications

• Five years’ practical work experience in health physics.
• Completion of DOE/site-specific examinations and training.
• Must understand radiological control job classifications and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Transmit radiological work controls to the line; advise on progress.
• Provide radiological worker training.
• Generate, review, and sign Radiological Work Permits (RWPs).
• Assist with scheduling radiological work during PAMM/POMM and down times.
• Cover full range of radiation control duties.
• Review data from radiological analysis and document lessons learned.
• Adhere to safety rules and use Stop Work authority when needed.
