Job summary

Tetra Tech in Erlanger, KY is seeking a Certified Health Physicist (CHP) to support U.S. EPA radiation safety on a federal contract. The CHP will manage radiological equipment, develop SOPs, perform field surveys, and analyze data.

Requires ABHP or equivalent, CHP, 10+ years experience, 40-Hour HAZWOPER and EPA clearance, with willingness to travel for site visits. Strong writing, verbal skills, and ability to work independently and in teams are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in health physics, natural sciences, physical sciences, or engineering.
• 10+ years of relevant experience.
• CHP certification by the American Board of Health Physics, 40-Hour HAZWOPER and 8-Hour Refresher.
• EPA standard security clearance.
• Ability to conduct project site and client visits, possibly including overnight travel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Highly motivated, customer focused, and able to work well in a team environment.
• Capable of passing a U.S. Government background check for federal contracts.
• Must pass motor vehicle risk checks and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage EPA radiological monitoring equipment for response readiness.
• Create and maintain SOPs for radiological monitoring equipment.
• Participate in radiological field surveys, field sampling, and data collection.
• Conduct field experiments and/or data analyses.
• Support EPA with radiological workshops by preparing agendas and presenting material.
• Provide radiological response and technical support.
• Communicate with project clients, vendors, and subcontractors; establish and grow client relationships.
