Responsibilities

• Detail Review and Analysis of Case materials.
• Identify key facts, hot documents, witnesses and develop legal theories.
• Review and analyze data from multiple sources; perform data entry using CJIS, CCIS, Pacer to search defendant’s criminal history.
• Gather documents from older cases; analyze facts; collect evidence; review, organize, and bate-stamp; draft an index in MS Excel of all documents with Bates ranges.
• Perform legal research using LexisNexis and Westlaw; draft pleadings and incorporate caselaw.
• Understand court system, legal research procedures and resources; knowledge of local rules and filing pleadings via CM/ECF or ex parte on sealed cases.
• Produce written documents using advanced word processing; create PowerPoints and spreadsheets from gathered data.
• Schedule witnesses; coordinate travel for trials; monitor prisoner movement; coordinate expert witnesses and their testimony schedule.
