Overview
  • Fully remote position, primary working hours within the central standard time zone (CST).

The Senior HCM (Human Capital Management) System Analyst is responsible for leading the technical oversight and system maintenance related to Human Resource functions in the Workday Application such as Core HR, Benefits, Talent Management, Learning, Recruitment, Absence and Compensation. Works closely with the HR and Payroll functional areas as the technical resource to analyze, suggest and troubleshoot issues and new requests. Works closely with other Workday System peers on cross functional enhancements and issues.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a member of the Digital & Technology Solutions department partnering with HR and People Technology areas to drive the product roadmap and support the configuration of Workday HCM Core, Benefits, Compensation, Absence, Talent Mangement, Recruitment, Learning, People Experience, reporting and analytics.

  • Develop and implement best practices for Workday system use, including business process workflows, dashboards, and reporting capabilities.

  • Gather feedback from users, analyze workflows, and implement enhancements or customizations to meet evolving business needs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into system configurations.

  • Perform complex Workday EIBs and configuration changes, create test scripts, and conduct testing

  • Research, design, test and implement configuration changes resulting in process improvements.

  • Serve as a lead subject matter expert for Workday HCM products and apply knowledge to maintain effective system utilization and efficiency.

  • Manage Workday semi-annual releases and feature adoption across HCM module.

  • Monitor system performance and proactively address issues, coconsciously seek opportunities to enhance system process and improve user experience.

  • Facilitate change management processes, including the development of release management communication plans, implementation plans, and rollback plans for HCM products.

  • Investigate, triage, and troubleshoot escalated issues and system outages. Perform root cause analysis and exercise appropriate problem resolution and risk mitigation strategies.

  • Develop internal training materials to be used to educate functional and end users on Workday HCM functionality.

  • Strong working knowledge of Workday’s security configuration; Maintain Workday security design, configuration, workflow, and security administration

  • Stay apprised of Workday releases and new features, assess impacts and recommend adoption strategies.

  • Work collaboratively with technical and business stakeholders to drive the product roadmap.

  • Provide mentorship and direction to junior members of the technical team.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Applicants are encouraged to apply for consideration in alignment with the following position levels:

  • HCM Analyst - 4-6 years' experience, support of at least 4 products within the Workday HCM suite
  • HCM Administrator - 1-3 years' experience, support of more than one product within the Workday HCM suite

Bachelor’s Degree in relevant technical field (Information Technology, Computer Science, Software, Engineering or related technical discipline) or equivalent combination of training and work experience

7+ years Workday HCM development, configuration, reporting, product support, implementation or related experience and training required

Expertise in at least 5 HCM modules such as Core, Absence, Recruiting, Compensation, Talent management, Performance, Benefits, Compensation, Learning, Security, or Calculated fields required

Prior HR/Payroll functional system and healthcare experience strongly preferred

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Passing the Driver’s License Check and/or Credit Check (for those positions requiring).

Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and/or IL Health Care Workers Background Check.

Must be able to follow written/oral instructions.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Understanding of HR/Payroll operations and experience in employee data management

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with internal customers, cross-functional colleagues, vendors, and technical partners

  • Ability to accurately define requirements and interdependencies to develop viable solutions

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to prioritize workload and provide timely follow-up and resolution

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects across a variety of applications

  • Ability to provide strategically aligned direction and coaching to a variety of stakeholders
