Job summary
The Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) in Sacramento is seeking a Senior Hazardous Substances Engineer to support the LABRIC program within the Exide Division. You will lead site discovery, review historical data, develop investigation and cleanup scopes, and manage CEQA considerations with project managers and contractors.
You will collaborate with geologists, engineers, and scientists, coordinate with stakeholders, and supervise resources to meet milestones.
Qualifications
- Experience in environmental investigation and remediation.
- Experience in project planning and scheduling.
- Experience with project budgeting.
- Experience with developing and managing contracts.
- Knowledge of remediation technologies.
- Experience in interacting with the public.
- Professional Engineer Registration.
Responsibilities
- Lead site discovery and screening to identify potential contamination sites.
- Review historical and regulatory documents to assess releases.
- Develop site investigation and cleanup scopes.
- Provide reviews on engineering and remediation tasks for project managers.
- Manage CEQA aspects, contracts, work orders, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate with stakeholders and manage project milestones.
