Job summary

Beacon Biosignals in Boston is seeking a test engineer specializing in hardware and firmware to develop and execute tests for EEG and Home Sleep Test systems, ensuring alignment with design specs, quality requirements, and regulatory standards. You will collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software teams, document test plans and results, and help implement automation to improve testing efficiency.

Qualifications

BS in engineering or related field; 5+ years of engineering experience with BS, or 3+ years with MS.
Experience reading electrical schematics and RTOS-based embedded software.
Proficient in Python scripting for test automation and data analysis.
Troubleshooting, debugging, and root cause analysis of hardware and firmware in electromechanical systems.
Familiarity with design controls and regulations for medical devices; experience with Git/JIRA.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute device testing per Beacon’s QMS.
Create and document test plans, protocols, and scripts for embedded hardware/firmware/software.
Develop and maintain test procedures, fixtures, and equipment.
Conduct functional, integration, system, and regression testing on hardware and firmware.
Collaborate with hardware and firmware engineers to troubleshoot issues.
Ensure products meet safety and regulatory requirements (FDA, CE, 60601).
Implement process improvements and test automation to boost quality and efficiency.
