Job description

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Hardware Technical Program Manager to lead critical product development initiatives for our client, a clean-energy technology company that manufactures fuel-flexible, low-emission power generators that help data centers, utilities, and industrial customers generate reliable electricity on-site, based in Menlo Park, CA. We’re seeking a candidate that can leads initiatives from early program definition through execution and successful transition to high-volume manufacturing.

In this role, you will own complex, multi-disciplinary programs, drive alignment across engineering and operations teams, surface risks early, and enable informed decision-making at the executive level.

Responsibilities
  • Own and drive complex product development programs: Lead a portfolio of programs ranging from focused tactical initiatives to multi-year, company-wide efforts, ensuring delivery against technical, schedule, and business objectives
  • Program-level decision ownership: Frame tradeoffs, resolve cross-functional conflicts, and drive alignment when priorities compete
  • Executive and stakeholder communication: Communicate clearly and effectively with senior leadership and external partners to drive decisions, provide program visibility, and escalating risks proactively
  • Cross-functional leadership: Partner closely with engineering, reliability, test, operations, supply chain, and manufacturing teams to align priorities and streamline execution
  • Manufacturing readiness and scale: Drive programs through NPI, manufacturing handoff, and production ramp, ensuring design, supply chain, and operational readiness
  • Tools, process, and systems optimization: Leverage tools such as Jira and enterprise data systems to improve program transparency, execution discipline, and cross-team collaboration
  • Risk management: Identify technical, operational, and schedule risks early; lead mitigation planning and execution across teams
Skills and Requirements
  • 10+ years leading cross-functional technical programs in a complex hardware product company (not just software)
  • Has owned programs that span multi-disciplinary engineering + operations (Electrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/controls/software/systems, test, reliability, manufacturing, supply chain).
  • Has done NPI and manufacturing handoff multiple timeso Knows what “manufacturing readiness” really takes (BOM maturity, supplier readiness, test strategy, process capability, build phases, etc.)
  • Comfortable leading a portfolio: some initiatives are tactical and urgent; others are multi-year roadmap drivers.
  • Extensive experience managing projects with a primary objective of reducing field and factory-reported failures, utilizing a framework of quality and reliability methodologies (e.g., FMEA, RCA, RCM) and metrics (MTBF, MTTR) to drive and measure success.
  • Regulatory certification exposure (even better if they’ve driven it in a product lifecycle).
  • PMP (nice, not required).
  • Experience scaling a product into high-volume manufacturing, not just prototypes.
