Job summary

Monarch Quantum in San Diego seeks a Project Engineer 3 – Product Integration to help scale our photonics platform. This hands-on, startup‑minded role coordinates mechanical, electrical, optical, software and firmware teams to deliver integrated server racks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years hardware project engineering experience.
• Startup environment experience is a plus.
• Server rack development experience is a plus.
• Laser system development experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Leads cross‑functional rack integration efforts across mechanical, electrical, optical, software, and firmware engineering teams to deliver integrated server racks.
• Leads planning and execution of development activities within the Reliability Engineering and Product team, responsible for project scope, schedule and budget.
• Translates customer usability, reliability, and maintainability requirements into engineering design requirements for Monarch Quantum’s photonics light engine rack designs, working with customer teams, internal teams and vendors.
• Manages matrixed technical team and vendors through schedule bottlenecks and changes while protecting productivity and focus on success.
• Provides technical, logistical and problem solving leadership and employs best engineering practices, identifying risks and opportunities and managing both.
• Ensures project execution per defined processes, documenting and defending milestones: requirement, design and test readiness reviews, integration and test events, test reports, installation and support.
