Job summary

Monarch Quantum in San Diego seeks a Manager of Mechanical Engineering to build the foundation of our hardware platform. This hands-on leadership role guides a growing team, shaping design practices and manufacturing readiness for laser and photonic systems.

You will collaborate with Optical, Electrical and Software teams, drive cooling and packaging strategies, and ensure projects meet scope and budget while advancing Monarch's mission.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in startup or technology companies.
• Proven record of building and leading engineering teams.
• Experience with opto-mechanical systems and robotics.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, develop and manage a team of mechanical engineers.
• Contribute to design, integration, verification and transition to production for complex laser and photonic systems.
• Establish and maintain mechanical engineering processes and tools.
• Lead execution of mechanical projects from requirements to qualification.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure hardware-software integration.
