Job summary

Kastle Systems is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineering Manager to lead hardware design, RF design, and end-to-end lifecycle support for consumer electronics products. This hands-on leadership role involves coordinating with product, firmware, and mobile teams to refine requirements and ensure market-ready designs.

Responsibilities include transitioning designs to manufacturing with onshore and offshore partners, defining quality standards, and maintaining robust change management with ECO

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years of industry experience with progression from design engineer to manager.
• 3+ years of people management experience.
• Hands-on expertise in schematic capture and PCB layout for wireless products.
• Experience with standard lab equipment (DMM, oscilloscope, logic analyzer).
• Familiarity with NPI and ECO management and version control.
• Strong ownership and ability to drive projects from start to finish.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of hardware and system engineers to perform schematic capture, layout, mechanical and RF design.
• Interface with product management, firmware and mobile teams to refine requirements, and ensure that designs and deliverables meet market needs.
• Transition designs to manufacturing, working with both onshore and offshore manufacturing partners.
• Define quality standards, own documentation and change management processes to ensure reliability and QA testing.
• Cultivate relationships with component and module vendors, stay in touch with industry trends and develop the hardware product roadmap.
• Participate in industry forums and represent the company at standards bodies.

Qualifications

• Strong EE fundamentals with a degree in electrical or computer engineering.
• At least 10 years of industry experience with demonstrated progression from design engineer to lead engineer and then to manager.
• At least 3 years of experience as a people manager
• Hands-on expertise in schematic capture and PCB layout for wireless products
• Experience with using standard lab equipment such as a DMM, oscilloscope and logic analyzer.
• Familiarity with NPI and manufacturing processes including management of Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and version control.
• Strong sense of ownership and ability to work independently to take projects from start to finish
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to summarize and present to non-technical audiences
