Job summary

Innoflight LLC in San Diego seeks a Hardware Engineer III to own complex spacecraft hardware from concept to integration, partnering with software, firmware, mechanical, and PCB teams to ensure high-reliability electronics for space systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years designing embedded board-level hardware for aerospace.
• Strong background in high-speed digital and analog design (FPGAs, memory, microprocessors).
• Experience with schematic capture and PCB tools (Altium/OrCAD/HyperLynx).
• Proficiency in signal/power integrity, impedance control, EMI/EMC.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, validation, and debugging of analog, power, and embedded board-level electronics.
• Design interfaces (Rocket I/O, Ethernet, PCIe, DDR, RS-422, LVDS) for spacecraft systems.
• Develop power systems with linear and switching regulators to meet requirements.
• Guide PCB layout, stack-up, impedance, and signal integrity.
• Perform SPICE simulations and SI/PI analyses for radiation environments.
• Collaborate with software, firmware, mechanical, and systems teams.
