Job summary

Innoflight LLC in San Diego, CA is seeking an Embedded Software Applications Engineer II to diagnose and resolve embedded software issues, analyze flight telemetry, and collaborate with Software, Hardware, FPGA, Manufacturing and Quality teams in a high‑reliability aerospace environment.

Requires a BS in a technical field, 3+ years of embedded Linux/RTOS experience, strong C/C++, and lab tool proficiency. Security clearance eligibility is anticipated.

Qualifications

• BS in a technical field (EE/CE/CS) or equivalent.
• 3+ years embedded software development on Linux/RTOS.
• Strong C/C++ and root cause analysis experience.
• Experience with lab diagnostic tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose embedded software/firmware issues from flight telemetry and logs.
• Perform root cause analysis using lab equipment to isolate problems.
• Support embedded system development: BSPs, bootloaders, kernel modules.
• Troubleshoot interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, PCIe, SpaceWire, Ethernet).
• Collaborate across Software, Hardware, FPGA, Manufacturing and Quality.
• Assist with customer success and communicate findings clearly.
