Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a seasoned Electrical Engineer to own end-to-end avionics hardware development for air and ground vehicle systems. You will design, test, and validate complex PCB layouts, interfaces, and bring-up procedures in collaboration with software and hardware teams.

The role requires 5+ years in board design, familiarity with CAN/I2C/SPI/PCIe/USB, and experience with signal integrity. US Person status is required; on-site work location is in California.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of board design experience.
• Experience using test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, thermal chambers, current probes) and test automation.
• Familiarity with CAN, I2C, SPI, PCIe, USB interfaces.
• Familiarity with Ethernet, PCIe, HDMI digital busses.
• Experience with MCU/CPU/FPGA devices and analog/digital electronics.
• Competency with Altium or similar CAD tools.
• Experience in signal integrity / power integrity.
• U.S. Person status is required for export controlled data.

Responsibilities

• Full cycle PCB design including collecting requirements, schematic design, component selection, supervision or completion of layout, bring-up, test, debug and integration with the system.
• Development of air and ground vehicle avionics systems (flight controls, sensors, payloads, and networking)
• Provide support and collaborate within other air vehicle subsystem development constraints
• Conduct peer-level and cross-discipline design reviews
• Build up and test of avionics system components through lab, ground, and flight tests
• Low level firmware development for bring-up and test
• Root cause analysis in support of field operations
• Work cross-functionally between software and hardware teams
• Develop hardware bring-up and validation test plans, on bench top and on product

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Maneuver Dominance team is building Thunder - an autonomous attack rotorcraft built to fight alongside crewed combat aviation to deliver overwhelming mass effects deep beyond the front lines.
Autonomy is only as good as the link that carries it. Thunder is a compact airframe with weapons, sensors and radios competing for the same antenna real estate, flying low and in formation, in a spectrum that is actively contested. That is the problem you would own.WHAT YOU’LL DO

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with 5+ years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex board designs
• Competence with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, thermal chambers, current-probes, and automation of tests.
• Familiarity with standard interfaces such as CAN, I2C, SPI, PCIe, USB, etc.
• Familiarity with digital communication busses, such as Ethernet, PCIe, HDMI.
• Familiarity with common MCU, CPU, FPGA devices and technologies.
• Knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and electronic circuits.
• Comfortable with a variety of electronic CAD tools (Altium preferred, others acceptable)
• Experience in design for signal integrity / power integrity
• U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working on products for safety-critical applications, such as automotive, aviation, or
• Understanding of DO-254, DO-178C, DO-160 and relevant avionics design standards for UAS

US Salary Range

$129,000 — $198,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
