Job summary

W3Global in Rockville, MD is seeking a motivated Hardware Engineer to design rugged single-board computers for embedded electronics. You will contribute from concept through production, handling analog and digital circuit design, embedded system architecture, and FPGA/CPLD work.

The role requires hands-on use of PCB CAD tools for schematic capture, timing and signal integrity simulations, and collaboration with mechanical, software, and supply chain teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 8+ years in electronic circuit design preferred; capable hands-on contribution.
• Experience in high-speed microprocessor-based PCB design and CAD tools.
• Knowledge of test benches and validation processes.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with diverse teams.
• Eligible to work in ITAR projects as a U.S. person.

Responsibilities

• Design, verify, and document rugged single-board electronics from concept to production.
• Capture requirements and define hardware solutions, test and verification plans.
• Use CAD tools for schematic capture and perform timing/signal integrity simulations.
• Create net rules and routing constraints; coordinate with layout engineers.
• Design and simulate digital logic for FPGA/CPLD using vendor tools.
• Evaluate components to meet project requirements.
• Test, validate hardware, and participate in production testing and compliance.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, systems, supply chain, and sales teams.
