Job summary

Cleaveland/Price seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer in Trafford, PA to deliver hardware solutions across the product lifecycle. You will design, simulate, prototype, and test analog and digital circuitry, and drive PCB layout with manufacturability in mind.

Work with cross-functional teams to resolve obsolescence and support manufacturing tests. The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering (ABET) and 10+ years of experience, with knowledge of Altium and three-phase power systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited program
• Experience with analog and digital circuit design
• Experience with circuit design and layout software such as Altium
• Experience with circuit simulation software
• Knowledge of PCBA manufacturing process
• Knowledge of three-phase power systems preferred
• Candidates must already have work authorization to work in the US
• Senior level typically requires 10+ years of experience

Responsibilities

• Develop, simulate, prototype, and test analog and digital circuitry
• Design PCB using best practices and coordinate with CM to ensure manufacturability
• Collaborate with mechanical designers to develop packaging and create drawings
• Use lab equipment to test and troubleshoot designs
• Coordinate with external labs for regulatory testing
• Support design reviews and internal control processes
• Investigate problems and create corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Mentor less experienced engineers and provide training as needed
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Cleaveland/Price specializes in the design and manufacture of high voltage disconnect switches and switch automation products. The products that we offer are unique in design, and some include patented features. Products have been developed and tested in accordance with IEEE, ANSI, and NEMA standards for high voltage equipment. They are primarily used by investor-owned and public electric utilities and large industrial operations in substation, distribution, transmission, and generation applications. Your Goal

As a member of the Electronic Design group, you will be responsible for providing hardware-based solutions for electronic products covering the complete product lifecycle. This will include working on new product offerings, identifying and correcting design issues in existing products, finding solutions for part obsolescence, or creating test systems for the manufacturing process.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop, simulate, prototype, and test analog and digital circuitry
• Design printed circuit board using best practices and works with contract manufacturer to ensure manufacturability
• Work with mechanical designers or engineers to development packaging solutions and create drawings to include relevant mechanical assembly details
• Utilize standard electronics laboratory equipment to test and troubleshoot new and existing designs
• Work with external laboratories to complete regulatory compliance testing
• Support development collaboration, support design reviews, and follow internal engineering control processes
• Investigate of technical problems and the creation of procedures, processes, and corrective actions to avoid recurrences
• Provide guidance to less experienced engineers and facilitate training as needed
• Complete other tasks as assigned

Physical Requirements

Ability to wear standard personal protective equipment (PPE) required while on the shop floor or in other work area where mandated (i.e. steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and/or other applicable PPE).
