This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and execute complex circuit design projects for cutting-edge systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in designing complex hardware systems using state-of-the-art components, such as FPGAs, processors, and Systems on Chips (SOCs). This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced hardware engineer to contribute to high-performance embedded electronics while working in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
  1. Develop and document system architectures for embedded systems, ensuring effective integration of various hardware components.
  2. Perform detailed electrical design, including schematic capture, analysis, and the creation of high-quality design documentation.
  3. Collaborate with ECAD resources to manage PCB layout design, ensuring high-quality implementation and adherence to design guidelines.
  4. Lead the bring-up of prototypes and assist in debugging to ensure the system meets design specifications and performance targets.
  5. Conduct functional verification of designs and characterize performance to ensure designs meet required functionality and performance standards.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required (Master's degree is preferred).
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in hardware engineering, with a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles.
  • Extensive experience in the design and integration of complex systems using FPGAs, processors, or SOCs.
  • Experience in the design and analysis of power distribution networks for high-performance components, with proficiency in simulation tools like Ansys SIwave.
  • Proven ability to design high-speed communication interfaces and memory interfaces (i.e., PCIe, Ethernet, DDR3/4, etc.), and experience with tools like Hyperlinx for signal integrity analysis.
  • Solid understanding of system integration, analog design, sensor integration, digital signal processing, low power design, and signal integrity.
  • Experience with system grounding, shielding, and EMI mitigation techniques for complex embedded systems.
  • Proficiency with design tools and methodologies for embedded systems, including low-level programming knowledge (i.e., C and VHDL) to understand the operations of embedded processors, FPGAs, or SOCs.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Familiarity with commercial-grade components such as Xilinx Virtex, Microsemi SmartFusion, or Intel Stratix is desirable.
  • Active security clearance is strongly preferred. Candidates without an active clearance must be able to obtain a secret clearance upon starting this position.
