Job summary

E Tech Group is seeking a Senior Hardware Design and Instrumentation Engineer to lead the design, testing, and commissioning of control system hardware and instrumentation.

You will work within a collaborative team, applying your expertise across panel design, field wiring, and instrument loop checks while supporting customer startups and site installations. This role requires hands-on problem solving and travel to client facilities.

Qualifications

• BS Engineering degree or equivalent.
• 5+ years of hands-on automation experience on process plants.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E and UL 508A.
• Experience developing process control applications with PLCs and HMIs; startup and commissioning.
• Experience with control system networks (Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet).
• Schematic modification experience in AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Lead or contribute to hardware and instrumentation design for control systems.
• Coordinate work across multiple projects to meet client deliverables and timelines.
• Troubleshoot non-functional or out-of-spec instrumentation and control systems.
• Travel to client sites for installation, start-up, and commissioning activities.
• Serve as a hardware and instrumentation SME in automation.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure safe, reliable system performance.
