Job summary

Prattwhitney seeks a Senior Hardware Design Engineer to design mixed-signal hardware for its Radar Receiver and Transmitter subsystems. Job description

Job Overview

Senior Hardware Design Engineer – responsible for designing mixed‑signal hardware for Raytheon's Radar Receiver, Exciter, and Transmitter subsystems. Requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance. This is a 1st shift, 100% on‑site role based in either Tewksbury or Marlborough, MA with travel between front‑end locations.


Location

Tewksbury or Marlborough, MA (Boston region); travel to multiple MA sites anticipated.


Responsibilities


  • Design, model, simulate, and verify circuit and subsystem architecture for mixed‑signal hardware.

  • Perform integration and testing at component, CCA, and subsystem levels.

  • Transition designs to production and provide technical support to manufacturing and test engineers.

  • Occasional travel to supplier, integration, and customer sites; manage small projects or processes within area of responsibility.


Required Qualifications


  • Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

  • Experience in digital design, RF/Analog design, or production testing and troubleshooting circuits.

  • Proficiency with design simulation tools such as HyperLynx or LTSpice and analytical tools such as Matlab.

  • Experience with design development tools such as Mentor Graphics Xpedition schematic capture and layout.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience interfacing and testing Digital‑to‑Analog and Analog‑to‑Digital converters.

  • Experience with high‑speed digital interfaces (JESD204B, DDR3/DDR4, SERDES, 10G+ Ethernet, Fiber Channel).

  • Background in FPGA hardware inference designs including SERDES and LVDS.

  • Knowledge of requirement allocation from system to component level.

  • Cost estimating, budget and schedule management experience.

  • Proficiency with lab equipment (logic analyzer, oscilloscope, phase noise analyzer, spectrum analyzer).

  • Experience in a production environment and in technical writing, proposal writing, and oral presentations.

  • Active or existing Secret U.S. Security Clearance.


Compensation

Salary range: $86,800 – $165,200 USD. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, paid time off, holidays, parental leave, and incentive compensation programs.
