Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Senior Principal Hardware Engineer to lead the design of next-generation networking hardware. You will own the hardware design lifecycle from concept through production, working across hardware, firmware, software, and mechanical teams.

The role demands 10+ years of hands-on experience with high-speed signaling (100G/200G+), dense PCBs, FPGA development, and liquid-cooling architectures.

Qualifications

• 10+ years hands-on hardware/board design experience in complex, high-performance systems.
• Experience with 100G/200G signaling or high-bandwidth interfaces.
• Designing high-power, extremely dense PCBs and electronic systems.
• Hands-on FPGA design capability.
• Strong knowledge of SI/PI principles.
• Experience with scale-up HPC, networking, AI/ML or similar architectures.
• Experience with liquid cooling systems and architectures.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end hardware design lifecycle from system architecture to production.
• Lead design of high-density, high-power boards with demanding constraints.
• Design systems with high-speed signaling and interconnects (100G/200G+).
• Develop and review complex schematics, power architectures, clocking, interfaces.
• Design and develop FPGA solutions as required.
• Perform SI and PI analysis.
• Work on liquid-cooled scale-up system architectures.
• Collaborate with thermal and mechanical teams on cooling architectures.
• Identify technical risks and drive solutions to meet schedules.
