Job summary

American Commercial Barge Line seeks a Senior Operations Manager/Director, Harbor Services to lead safe, efficient harbor and tankering operations across the network. You will oversee Tankermen and Harbor Services teams, drive safety training, regulatory compliance, and fleet utilization while partnering with Port Captains and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of progressive inland marine operations experience.
• Master of Tow Vessels license and Tankerman-PIC endorsement required.
• Valid driver’s license and TWIC card.
• Strong knowledge of USCG and regulatory requirements.
• Willingness to travel and support 24/7 operations.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily performance, training, and development of Tankermen and Harbor Services teams.
• Develop and maintain transfer procedures aligned with standards and regulations.
• Lead hiring, onboarding, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
• Coordinate with Port Captains to ensure safe, efficient harbor operations.
• Oversee Houston Harbor Services and related assets.
• Ensure vessels are staffed, maintained, and utilized for safe operations.
• Collaborate with Logistics, Maintenance, Safety, and other stakeholders.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers and vendors in liquid cargo operations.
• Monitor KPIs for safety, service, cost, and utilization; report on operating performance.
• Provide financial stewardship through budgeting and forecasting for Tankering and Harbor Services.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
