Job summary

24 Seven Talent is seeking a Designer / Merchandiser - Handbags in New York to drive end-to-end handbag development from concept through production. You will grow a key category, working with the Design Director to shape creative vision, source materials, and bring designs to life with manufacturers.

The role requires 6+ years in luxury/contemporary handbag design, strong CAD and Adobe skills, and excellence in color and material selection to ensure premium results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Design or related field preferred.
• 6+ years’ experience in design within luxury or contemporary handbag industry.
• Experience with leather a plus.
• Excellent eye for color, materials and detail.
• Experience with hardware and/or jewelry design a plus but not required.
• Strong sketching skills and CAD skills.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
• Highly organized with strong time management and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct trend research and translate ideas into handbag concepts.
• Develop seasonal concepts, themes, and collections with guidance from Design Director.
• Present sketches and assortments; create design pitch decks.
• Identify materials, trims, hardware; build material libraries.
• Create tech packs and liaise with PD and factories to realize designs.
• Provide mockups or salpas as needed; design hardware elements.
