Job summary

Mercer, a Marsh & McLennan company, invites a Senior Health & Benefits Consulting Analyst to join our Health & Benefits team in Irvine, CA. This hybrid role requires three days in the office and offers exposure to strategy, design, implementation, and administration of client health and welfare programs.

You will manage RFPs, craft client communications, analyze health data, and collaborate with carriers and internal teams to deliver effective benefit solutions and strengthen client

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior consultants with reviewing client needs, recommending suitable approaches, and helping implement benefit program strategies
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret health care data for reporting to the client
  • Develop an awareness of the insurance vendor marketplace, plan designs, health care cost factors, and the renewal process for health and group benefit programs.
  • Coordinate the Request for Proposal (RFP) process on behalf of a client
  • Help write and structure client communications, including proposals, reports, spreadsheets, and presentations
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal teams and subject matter experts, as well as develop relationships with clients
  • Interact with carriers and vendors to gather quotes, negotiate, handle client service issues and review plan documentation

Job description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Health & Benefits team at Mercer, a Marsh business. This role will be based in Irvine and offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office.

As a Senior Health & Benefits Consulting Analyst, you will work closely with the team in the strategy, design, implementation, and administration of client companies’ health and welfare programs. Managing the RFP process, crafting client communications, and collaborating with internal teams and external carriers will be key to driving successful outcomes. We will count on you to:

Marsh is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All Marsh colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $54,000 to $108,000.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
