Job summary

CHAOS Industries, headquartered in Los Angeles, seeks a Senior Guidance Software Engineer to lead the design of guidance software for a clean-sheet airframe and to grow across product families. On-site in Los Angeles (Hawthorne) with deep experience in COTS frameworks, ArduPilot, and embedded Linux.

You will implement guidance and navigation software, integrate software with flight hardware, and contribute to a fast-paced R&D team using Agile practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of professional, object-oriented software development experience.
• Experience with design and implementation of guidance algorithms for UAS platforms using ArduPilot.
• Solid understanding and extensive experience in software development on microcontroller architectures (STM32 or similar) and Linux hosted on Nvidia Jetson/AMD/Xilinx SoC or Microblaze.
• Experience developing real-time embedded software including hardware interfaces and driver firmware.
• Experience with Agile lifecycle processes including Scrum, CI/CD, and Test-Driven Development.
• U.S. Person status is required as this position will require access to U.S.-only data systems.
