Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) seeks a Senior Guidance & Control Engineer to deliver world-class analysis and development for advanced vehicle systems, including hypersonics and autonomous flight platforms. You will mentor engineers, tackle nonlinear dynamics, and apply modern control techniques within a security-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical engineering, Mathematics or related field.
• At least five years in vehicle guidance, controls, or autonomous systems.
• Strong applied math, dynamics, and simulation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of guidance and control algorithms for autonomous vehicle systems.
• Mentor GNC engineers and maintain deep knowledge in analysis, design, and implementation of control solutions for weapon systems.
• Assess contractor designs to support DoD program offices and interface with contractors.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary experts to identify risks and shape program direction.
• Apply modern control theory and best practices to real-world flight systems.
