Job summary

Oshkosh AeroTech is seeking a Sr Field Service Technician to support local regional customers and travel nationally to airports across the continental United States. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of ground support equipment and PLC-controlled systems, with a focus on electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical diagnostics.

Responsibilities include hands-on servicing, extensive documentation, OEM testing, and mentoring junior technicians.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED with 5+ years of relevant experience in machine assembly, light fabrication, or equivalent contracting experience.
Proficient in electrical diagnostics and repair, mechanical systems, and hydraulic diagnostics/repair.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

Provide hands-on service for GSE equipment including aircraft tow tractors, container loaders, aircraft deicers, and baggage transport vehicles.
Diagnose, repair, and perform routine maintenance on hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Interface with PLC systems to upload/download programs, troubleshoot logic, and adjust control systems.
Maintain detailed documentation through work orders and service reports; review manuals and schematics for accurate procedures.
Mentor or train junior technicians in-field when required.
