Job summary

The Boys & Girls Clubs Of Greater San Diego is seeking a Sr. Group Leader for our Pauma Valley site to support daily operations, supervise staff and volunteers, and ensure safe, engaging youth programs.

You will assist with program delivery, health and safety protocols, attendance tracking, and relationship-building with youth and families, reporting to the Branch Manager. Prior experience with youth and a background in program leadership are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with High School diploma or GED required with some college experience; or a combination of knowledge and experience.
• A minimum of 48 units of college curriculum or completion of the Classroom Assistant Proficiency Exam (CAPE) required; or a combination of knowledge and experience.
• Minimum of one (1-3) year experience working directly with school aged youth and knowledge of youth development is required.
• Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth; instruct, coach, and direct varied activities.
• Possess skills for instruction, direction, and guidance, with the ability to lead and control groups of children in various recreational and educational activities and settings.
• Respond according to procedure for emergency and disciplinary situations.
• Ability to effectively communicate with youth, parents, staff, volunteers, and community partners displaying tact, maturity, and flexibility.
• CPR and First Aid Certifications within 30 days of hire.
• Must have the ability to be active and on your feet for a minimum of five hours each day and complete other essential functions of the position and other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily health & wellness checks on all staff and members as outlined in current guidelines.
• Be aware of current safety protocols and ensure adherence (face coverings, distancing, hand washing).
• Ensure programs and activities adhere to current health and safety protocols.
• Coordinate program services and cooperative learning activities for youth that are fun and instructional; maintain enthusiasm and commitment.
