Job summary

Beacon Health & Fitness – Mishawaka is seeking an experienced Group Exercise Instructor to lead quality classes under the supervision of the Group Exercise Coordinator. You will ensure safe, effective workouts, manage class formats, and adapt routines to keep participants engaged.

Candidates must hold an AFAA Group Exercise Instructor certification, CPR, and have at least three years of aerobics teaching experience.

Qualifications

Certification through AFAA as Group Exercise Instructor is required.
Additional certification with ACE/ACSM/AEA/USWFA or similar is preferred for specialty classes.
Minimum of three years of experience designing and teaching aerobics classes.
CPR certification or arrangements to obtain within first three months of employment.

Responsibilities

Conducts group exercise classes by arriving early and staying after to answer questions.
Selects safe, effective exercises and offers modifications as needed.
Maintains class format and appropriate intensity; cues movements for smooth execution.
Chooses music tempo and style; adapts routines every 4–6 weeks as required.
Assists with class coverage across Beacon Health & Fitness locations.
Supports management by helping develop new classes and engaging with clients and staff.
