Job summary

The University of Kansas is seeking a Landscape Worker Senior to maintain the campus grounds, plantings, and beds, and to lead crews as needed. The role involves operating a range of landscape equipment and performing pest and disease control measures as directed.

Work schedule is Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM to 3 PM, with benefits including generous leave, retirement, and tuition assistance. KU states it cannot provide immigration sponsorship for this position.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• One year of landscape or horticultural work experience.
• Valid driver’s license by time of hire.
• Experience using computers or handheld devices to communicate and perform work tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead crews in planting, maintaining and treating plantings.
• Operate mowers, string trimmers, snow blowers, tractors and related equipment.
• Coordinate work with Landscape Technicians and keep supervisor informed.
• Perform equipment maintenance on sprayer units and irrigation systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
