Job summary

Lynn University is seeking a skilled Landscaping Supervisor to lead the groundskeeping team on campus. You will direct crews, inspect work, schedule tasks, and coordinate with other departments to ensure projects meet quality, safety, and deadline requirements.

The role requires strong carpentry and gardening knowledge, the ability to manage budgets and personnel, and experience supervising large teams in a commercial landscape setting. On-site position with campus-wide responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of desktop computers, Microsoft Office and related products.
• Ability to prepare detailed reports.
• Ability to lift, carry, and handle equipment or materials weighing between 50-80 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.
• Ability to work outdoors in high heat.

Responsibilities

• Direct activities of workers who perform duties such as landscaping, cultivating lawns, or pruning trees and shrubs.
• Inspect completed work to ensure conformance to specifications, standards, and requirements.
• Schedule work for crews depending on priorities, crew and equipment availability, and weather conditions.
• Confer with other supervisors to coordinate work activities with other departments or units.
• Direct or perform mixing and application of fertilizers, insecticides, herbicides, and fungicides.
• Establish and enforce operating procedures and work standards for safety and performance.
• Inventory supplies and ensure items are available and in usable condition.
• Monitor project activities to ensure instructions are followed and deadlines met.
• Train workers in transplanting and pruning, equipment use, and turf care.
