Senior Ground Up Commercial Construction Estimator

We are seeking a Senior Ground Up Commercial Construction Estimator to join our team. This role involves estimating and bidding on commercial construction projects from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness in our bids.

Pay Range

This range is provided by 7B Building & Development. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience. The base pay range is $80,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr. Discuss with your recruiter for more details.

Objectives

The Estimator plays a crucial role in our company's growth by supporting the Senior Estimator in the bidding and estimating processes. Responsibilities include analyzing drawings, understanding contractual terms, assembling bid packages, negotiating quotes, and maintaining relationships with subcontractors and vendors.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Analyze drawings and specifications.
  2. Understand contractual terms and conditions.
  3. Adhere to Estimating Team Processes, Expectations, and Responsibilities.
  4. Assemble accurate bid packages and publish jobs out to bid promptly.
  5. Provide detailed quantity take-offs.
  6. Negotiate and ensure quotes meet contract documents.
  7. Write and approve change orders.
  8. Monitor project progress and identify risks.
  9. Maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
  10. Ensure proper documentation for site office personnel.
  11. Collaborate with the Senior Estimator, Project Manager, and other staff.
  12. Approve subcontractor and vendor submittals.
  13. Meet with clients to discuss project options.
  14. Review drawings for compliance and submit RFIs during bidding.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or 3+ years of experience in construction estimating.
  • Proficient with MS Office Word and Excel.
  • Proficient with estimating software.
  • Ability to work 50-60 hours during busy periods.
  • Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and documents.
  • Strong multi-tasking and deadline management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving ability and timely corrections.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction processes.
