Job summary

Astranis Space Technologies Corp. in San Francisco seeks a Senior Ground Station Systems Engineer to design, develop, deploy, and operate satellite ground systems for commercial and US Government programs, bridging customer requirements with system architecture.

The role emphasizes RF engineering, DSP/modem architectures, link budgets, and collaboration with spacecraft, network operations, and software teams. Willingness to travel and eligibility for US government clearance preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of satellite communications and ground systems engineering experience.
• Strong RF fundamentals: link budgets, antennas, RF chains.
• Ability to develop technical documentation and proposals.
• Willing to obtain/maintain U.S. Government security clearance.
• Willing to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support satellite ground station architectures including RF and network systems.
• Perform link budget analyses for GEO and MEO systems.
• Create requirements, interface definitions, and design docs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support proposals and captures.
• Lead or contribute to technical interchange meetings and demonstrations.
• Support cost estimation and risk assessments.
